Psalm 17

part 1

Clinical not dusty

the smell is different - breathe

hushed not chattering

the sound is different - breathe

caution not exuberance

the feel is different - breathe

bread not wine

the taste is different - breathe

bow not handsake

the touch is different - breathe

Buy you O God,

You are still there

in The Breath and in the differences

In the difference

You still speak

You still listen

You still give

In the difference

and love

and heal

and hold us close

In the difference - breathe

part 2

As it was in the beginning in a garden filled with light (and the Breathe of creation?), you are

As it was in the sound of laughter at the impossible, you are

As it was in the sense of the improbable at the burning bush, you are

As it was in Egypt and in the wanderings times of loss and confusion, you are

As it was crossing the Jordan to new beginnings, you are

As it was among the barley fields and the sheep of discoveries, you are.

As it was in the cry of the prophets to remember, you are.

As it was in exile and in return, you are.

As it was when an angel visited, you are.

As it was when strangers visited, you are.

As it was on Galilee's shore,  in homes and hillsides, you are.

As it was in a garden filled with darkness, you are.

As it was on a hillside with three sentinels, you are.

As it was in a cave, you are.  - breathe

As it was in a garden filled with tears and joy, you are.

As it was on a dusty road, you are.

As it was in an upper room, you are

As it was on a beach, you are.

As it was on a mountain top, you are

As it was in The Breathe descending, you are.

As it was in the market place, you are.

As it was in blinding light, you are.

As it was beside a puddle, you are.

As it was beside altars to the unknown, you are.

As it was on ship and prison, you are.

As it was before rich and poor; lovely and powerful, you are.

As it was and has been on countless lips, in countless hearts, through countless lives, in countless breathes, ever since and still today, you are.

part 3?

You are, You always will be,

despite what our senses try to proclaim

You are, still with and within us - breathe.
