Wee reminder that we gather as a community at Bearsden Cross of a service of remembrance at 10.45.
Then we have our morning worship reflecting more on remembrance at 11.30
And in the evening at 6.30 we begin to fill the silence with the hopes and living those who gave their lives for us wished as the choir lead us in music for Remembrance.
Here are some words from that service.
Remembrance is our own sanctus Silence our own agnus dei our own holy, holy holy our own lamb of God
that takes the pain of conflict and sees the God of love spread out across the battlefields caught up in the inglorious inhumanity of war
Holy, holy, holy God God of the powerless and weak heaven and earth cry with in-glory hosannas hushed in silence blessed is the one now gone, in God’s name hosanna in the lowest places
Lamb of God who takes the sin of the world Lamb of God who takes the pain and conflict Lamb of God who takes the suffering and memory Lamb of God who takes the fear and terror Lamb of God who takes grant us your peace your compassion your sharing of this moment your hurt your cross your tomb
Remembrance is our own sanctus silence our own agnus dei and it has not yet redeemed us
It has instead left silence we scare dare fill
Holy, holy holy Come God and redeem the times
