Lonely Planet

November 4, 2015

An new planet has been discovered without a sun. It is just floating free in space. All quite lonely.

Hearing about it on the BBC new website I checked for it again tonight. It's not there on the site. It's off somewhere else already. That's just like the thing. You get introduced and then it's off somewhere else.

The thing about it is that it wasn't found using the normal techniques. It was discovered using a method used for other things. That too is a bit of an allegory too because not everyone fits into the usual methods of being noticed. When we seek the poor, our usual definitions don't always cover everyone. Or when we look for 'church' we don't always recognise it with our typical understanding.

Just a wee lesson that we can't define everything into just a few categories. Knowing people helps. It's a method Jesus used. Everyone unique and needs unique. A great lesson in building community.
