That was the week that was. It is a week now since Paris. Are we any different? Is the world a different place?
Perhaps it was for a day or so, or how we felt towards it felt different, but now we have some sense of reflection and while everything is still holds a degree of rawness, is the world actually different? What did we learn?
Are we safer, or more fearful?
Are we closer or further apart?
Are we closer to war or closer to confusion?
Perhaps what has changed is we are asking these questions with a greater sense of realism but the difference will come in answering them.
As people of faith, how do we answer these questions and how then do we repond to the answer we give? If we say we are more fearful, do we decide to life more fully and change that fear to fullness? If we say we feel furether apart, do we deicde to seek ways to move closer towards each other again and if we feel closer do we decide to make that an everyday thing and speak of it and show it is real?
Faith is the gap between seeing the reality of the world and being able to live fully and positively in the world.
What might be the biggest change for the better in us all is if we step into the gap.
