Star Wars is out. Yay! Who is going to see it.
It seems to be better than the original. It seems to have been able to do that because George Lucas had nothing to do with it. The man with the original idea has been able to hand it over to the fan base built up over the almost four decades since the original film.
He had a hand in the sequels and prequels and they steadily got worse and worse however giving it over to those who care for it more with new enthusiasm has been the best thing he could have done and the producer of the new movie has breathed new life and imagination into the story (perhaps it is a very similar story to the original but that doesn't matter, it is retold and owned by a new generation).
Now, what about that might apply to the church?! We might need to actually have a new generation with which to do that which is where Star Wars is far more successful than the Church!
