I'm going to mention the session but you don't have to feel you need to stop reading.
We had a conference session tonight and moved from the Creed to how all those ancient words might help shape the actions we take as a congregation and the shape we might become in response to the creed.
We wanted to list the priorities of the congregation locally, nationally and globally and did that in groups so I don't know what all the results were but it will make interesting reading judging from our group.
Then, if these are our priorities, how might our structure be shaped in order to respond to those priorities.
This is shaping the church from first principles so the church is a community that shapes itself in response to the needs to the wider community. And to this extent we asked whether or not we need to always be elders, or even just a congregation. How can we reshape our committees/task groups using people across the community and work in partnership with them.
