You'll have seen it across facebook and Buzzfeed our organist has gone viral. Chris played 'Life on Mars' at Kelvingrove yesterday and it has gone mad ever since. Tonight it passed 2.25 million views. That's quite a big congregation. Probably the biggest concert he has played in.
So, if you would like to experiecne the cross between contemporray and spiritual music and the kind of liturgy that goes along with that, come along any Sunday and you'll hear (not every week) connections with contemporary culture and deepest faith. It's an inspiring combination.
So thanks Chris. He was one Radio Scotland today, Radio 5 Live tomorrow, M&B herald, Mirror, Daily Record and Church of Scotland webpage. It's a very interesting insight into the crossing of cutures: people recognising spiritual moments and finding the music that connects them. The clever bit is finding the balance and selection that works for that particular moment.
