We have communion on Sunday so here is an affirmation for those who would like to share bread and wine with us:

Welcome to the table

We used to fence it

we really did

but we've learned

you don't build good relationships

when you isolate yourself

So welcome

Welcome to the table

saint and sinner

known and unknown

member and foreigner

Leave your passport at home

Leave your tie

your hat

your smart suit

come as you are

This kingdom of bread and wine

has no borders

and offers a relationship

based on diversity

on story sharing

on trusting the goodness of humanity

So welcome

you won't be turned away

you'll be given a place

where we will give thanks

for who you are

as our neighbour

and Child of God
