Reflection

February 3, 2017

Here's a prayer from Sunday's service. Sorry not more exciting than that!

Lord Jesus

the bringing back of the past

finding the glory in what has been

returning what is broken to new life

restoration man

may what is broken in us

what is corrupt

what is peeling

and never been renewed

that which is tarnished

bruised

scandalised

may we be restored again

to the people you created us to be

Not restored to some beauty that lies there in

but that we are restored back into community

where what has moved us to the edge of relationships

the hurt

the cynicism

the anger

is transformed

and we are restored

to our neighbours in a new relationship of love

to our friends as people renewed in grace

to our families as people to are restored in love

Lord Jesus

we are not looking for the cosmetics of restoration

but what that return does

Lord Jesus

may forgiveness

restore us

from the shadows of life

to the colour of life

when we are brought back

into life

Hear us

Forgiving God

and Restoration Lord

So be it
