Children & families
Noise is a sign of life.
Children aren’t the church of tomorrow; they’re part of the church today. On a Sunday morning there’s a place for every pre-school and primary child, and for the grown-ups who bring them.
The basics
When
Sundays, 10.30–11.30am
Sunday School is for all pre-school and primary school children, every Sunday morning.
Where we start
Together, in church
We all begin in church at 10.30. Then the children go through to the hall for activities in age groups until 11.30.
What to wear
Whatever you like
Come as you are. Jeans, jumpers, wellies, the occasional princess dress: all welcome.
Where to sit
Wherever suits you
Sit in the front pews alongside other families if that’s easier. Or sit at the back, and slip out with the others when the children come charging down the aisle.
How Sunday School runs
Leaders, not teachers
We’re all learning together, children and grown-ups alike, and everyone is on first-name terms.
- Classes in age groups, each with its own leaders
- Parents are welcome to go through with their children and join in
- Crafts, games and activities every week
- Plays at Christmas
- Parties, and activities out in the garden
- At the big festivals we often all stay in church together, for worship across every generation
A glimpse of Sundays
Come once and try it out.
Then let us know what you think. If you’d like a hand on your first Sunday, tell us you’re coming and someone will meet you at the door.
