The splendour of the house of God
had fallen on hard times
in the days of Hannah

She herself
had fallen on barren times
And God was silent

Until things started to turn round
the temple that was corrupt
grew into new life
the woman who was barren
was with child

but it didn’t stop there
and the world
that was in silent shadow
was given a song
of renewal
sung on the lips
of the woman who was now alive with new life

It is the beginning of the great reversal
so let us join the song
and speak into the future
not with dark words
but words of hope
of baptism
of life
of journey
