O God,

we have waited

and searched

for healing and peace.

 

We have prayed

and given thanks

for the good things

that still surround us.

 

But we are weary

and our reserves are running low.

And still, O God

no end is in sight.

 

O God, how long will this go on?

How long will we lurch from troughs to peaks,

things constantly changing,

bringing confusion, anger and renewed fear.

 

O God you are our constant

our source of comfort and of strength.

God you are our ever present help

in all kinds of storms and troubles.

Do not fail us now we need your aid, O God,

we can not get through this on our own.

Have you abandoned us?
